Description
Armed with a laser rifle and nerves of steel, the Soldier is the go-to infantry unit in any Airmech Pilot's army.
Characteristics[]
The Soldier is a default starter unit which is available to all players from the start. It is the basic infantry, whose main role is to neutralize and capture enemy Outposts.
Advantages
- Soldier is a general purpose infantry capable of fulfilling most infantry roles.
- Soldier has no outstanding stats, but is cheap which makes it easy to use.
- Generally effective in small groups (3-4).
- Generally more effective than Level 1 or 2 Creeps.
Disadvantages
- Lacks any particular strength like Rocketeer or Brute.
- Weak against area-of-effect attacks, such as Bombs and Artillery.
- Easily killed without support from friendly units.
Good Loadouts
- Works well in any loadout as a generic infantry. It is a suitable unit to quickly fill an outpost and defend it against other infantry until other defensive units are placed down.
Notes[]
- The Soldier is the stock, generic Infantry unit. Okay at everything, but great at nothing. Handy for when you need infantry, but don't know what for exactly.
- A good use of the Soldier is to use them for light harass, as their low cost makes full loads of Soldiers easily replaceable, along with them doing decent damage to Outposts make the Soldier an effective harassing unit if dropped by Airmechs.
- Soldiers are also useful on defense, when time is needed for supporting units to arrive, as its fast build speed and cheap cost allow them to replace the outpost very quickly, sometimes even out-replacing the Soldiers killed.
- Soldiers are also very useful as meatshields, as their 250 HP means they cannot be killed by 2 shots from Longhorn, Gemini, or Armadillo, meaning those tanks will waste 3 shots trying to kill the Soldier, which gives friendly units more time to take the enemy tanks out before the enemy tanks can re-aim on the friendly units.
Trivia[]
- During the Alpha version, it was called a Basic Infantry.
- During a very early Alpha, Soldiers were actually Human troops. A change in Artstyle and Storyline of the game switched them to robots.
