Description
The unholy marriage of a HAAT turret and a super-heavy modified tank chassis. Be afraid, very afraid...
Characteristics[]
The Gorgon is essentially a HAAT on tank treads. Only being built at Level 8 means that you'll rarely be able to build one unless the match is going on for a while, and even when you do the niche it has is rarely strong enough to bring in a loadout. 2v2's are where they shine, as one player can bring it in their loadout and the other can fill the other roles, something that you'd struggle with in a 1v1. Before Update 241, it was unavailable to the player and only existed on Warzone maps and spawned on Duel as a neutral unit.
Advantages[]
- Due to its heavy armor, it can roll with Goliath or Devastator for extreme pressure against enemy AirMechs that want to stop the push or harass your late game clumps.
- Can defend extremely well against more squishy targets such as Neo, Saucer and Angel.
- Unavoidable shots make it strong against Bomber in late game when it is no longer facing small health pools
- Shoots consistently without reloading, constant DPS compared to all other anti-air units.
Disadvantages[]
- Cannot be unlocked until level 8, a step away from Devastator.
- Pretty expensive compared to other units suck as Seeker.
- Has less penetration than Flakker and in groups Flakker outperforms.
- Less range than Seeker or HAAT.
Trivia[]
- The Gorgon at one point appeared on Warzone as a spawning unit in later waves, and Duel as a neutral and could be obtained through abduction via Saucer or using Necro to revive it. As of Update 241, Build 62720, it became a buildable unit.
- In previous versions, when carried, the Gorgon showed a small inset of a Longhorn instead, didn't accept commands, and shrunk in size when attacking. As of an unknown version, these are no longer true.
- If a player attempts to sell a Gorgon, they will not receive credits.
- Gorgons were also able to fire at the fortress and deal damage to it, the only Anti-Air that was able to do so. It no longer targets them on an attack fortress command.
- The hull model used for it in-game appears to be a modified, upscaled Longhorn with a HAAT on the top and a Dinger on the hood, with the front ends of Bombs sticking out from the front rims.
