Ebola is a sort of chat mini-game. When someone uses the Ebola item they become infected, and their name becomes red in chat. After about 2 minutes, the disease increases and your text becomes red, and your words are jumbled randomly. After about a minute of that you start to feel better and go back to normal.
The disease has a chance of spreading if a player types under the text of an infected person, effectively "coming in close contact with an infected person".
If you become infected, you can use an Ebola Cure to instantly heal yourself. Alternately, you can wear a Hazmat Suit Badge to prevent Ebola from spreading to you. Thirdly, using the Ebola Vaccine can allow you to become immune to getting Ebola in chat
NOTE: Being infected does not make you immune to getting muted by a chat moderator. Do not view the jumbled text as a way to spam the chat freely.
