Description[]

AirMech Clients are programs that allow players to access Carbon Games servers to play and interact with AirMech. They can mainly be categorized in 2 types depending upon the API used for the client;
Chrome (NaCl) and PC (Canary, PC, Steam, Aeria, GamersFirst).

PC Client[]

Requirement: Windows Systems with x86 (32Bit)

Availability: Downloadable at Carbon's Site

Compatibility: Compatible with PC clients, but not with Chrome variants

Exclusive: No Exclusive

Description[]

The PC client is the Release Client of AirMech allowing players to download and play the latest released features of AirMech. It's the latest stable build of Canary Client and have fewer number of updates compared to Canary Client.

Steam Client[]

Description[]

The Steam client is similar to PC Client of AirMech except it has Steam Overlay UI functions allowing players to join Steam forums, take screenshots, track achievements and view AirMech leaderboards.

Note on buying Steam Content for AirMech[]

If you purchase any Steam content for AirMech (such as the Steam Starter Pack (same as Starter Pack, the FLA Soundtrack, AirMech Prime, etc.) you must login to the Carbon Games AirMech servers via the Steam Client (this is the only way Steam's servers will talk to Carbon's servers, and report that you now own those items).

If your account is linked to a Carbon account, and you can sign into said account with your Carbon email, then such items will be available for use outside of the Steam Client once they are accredited to your account.

Canary Client[]

Requirement: Windows Systems with x86 (32Bit)

Availability: Downloadable at Carbon's Site

Compatibility: Compatible with Canary Clients and also with PC variants if their versions match, but not with Chrome variants

Exclusive: No Exclusive, except usually early access to Shop Items before Release


Description[]

The Canary client is the Test Client of AirMech allowing players to download and test the latest unreleased features beforehand and report back possible bugs to be fixed for next release patch of AirMech.

Canary Bird is not to be confused with Canary client since it is a reward for extended bug reporting. Due its nature ,Canary client is more prone to bugs, yet since AirMech is in Beta stage, even released patches can contain bugs.

Chrome Client[]

Requirement: Any Operating System with Chrome Browser

Availability: Formerly downloadable at Chrome Web Store. It has since been permanently retired.

Compatibility: Compatible with all Chrome Clients on all OS'es, but not with PC variants

Exclusive: Chrome Saucer, 645 Diamonds Diamonds icon

Description[]

The Chrome Native Client (NaCl]) is the Cross Platform Client of AirMech allowing non PC players (mostly Linux and Mac as well as PC) to download and play AirMech within the Google Chrome browser.

Although Chrome client provides cross platform functionality, it's playerbase is relatively small due to Chrome Browser restrictions forcing Chrome players to play only with other Chrome players but not with other AirMech clients. They share in-game chats with other clients but can not use party chat to chat to other client players. Most of the time Chrome players are invited to play on AirMech PC clients if they can.

Chrome client was the only client that a Player could buy the Exclusive Chrome Saucer from the in-game Shop for 645 diamonds. Upon purchase the Chrome Saucer can be used on any AirMech client with the current login credentials. Chrome Saucer is now considered an "ancient" skin that can only be obtained from other players via Market or gift by mail.

Aeria Client[]

The Aeria client is similar to PC Client of AirMech except it needs Aeria Ignite Launcher to be installed.

GamersFirst Client[]

The GamersFirst client is similar to PC Client of AirMech except it needs GamersFirst LIVE! Launcher to be installed.
